A look at various weight loss Methods
Are you as confused as we were when we first looked into losing weight? So many diets
to choose from. Not just 10, but hundreds. And they all promise the same thing : you will
lose weight with out tips. Well, half of them don't work, and several of them aren't even a
healthy way to lose weight. On this page we will be taking a look at the weight loss methods
advertised online. It may surprise you that there are so many, we can't comment on all of
them, just the ones on this page:
Diet Watch
Diet Watch is an online weight loss programme, one of the first according to our information.
This programme first appeared around 1999 and is officially backed by dietitian Jennifer May.
It's made up of 4 diet options:
Balanced - A pretty general weight loss programme, as the name indicated : balanced.
Reduced Carb - Not like Atkins diet, carbs are set at 40%.
Vegetarian - No meat, mainly eggs and milk.
Low Cholesterol - satured fats are not welcome here and will be minimal.
Their programme offers you the option to lose weight or maintain your current weight level.
Diet.com - Personality Type
Does our personality affects dieting and weight in general?
Dr Kushner the writer of diet.com thinks so. He believes personality has a major impact
on our attitudes towards food and even exercise. This diet is therefore based on your personal
situation. It's especially useful for people who have had trouble keeping up with other diets.
You'll begin this diet with a 70 question survey. It is supposed to root out our fears, get to know our
feelings, and our attitude towards food and exercise. At the end it will display 3 different personality
types. Dieting alone does not work, losing weight requires a complete lifestyle change. You
have to be prepared to sacrifice certain things to get the weight you want. Are you ready?
Atkins Diet
Almost everyone has heard of the Atkins diet. It's mainly aimed at reducing your consumption
of carbs, which will make you burn off fat and lose weight. The Atkins book sold over 10 million
copies, however, there is no scientific evidence to support what the Atkins diet claims to do.
If you are a vegetarian the Atkins diet is most likely not for you.
A warning was issued by the American Heart Association mentioning that the high-protein,
high-fat diets could prevent you from getting some of the most important nutrients, and even
warns that diets such as this could increase the risk of coronary heart disease and cause
fatigue.
Again, your personal situation usually requires a personalised approach. For casual weight
loss one of the general (not too drastic) weight loss programmes should provide you with
good results.
